There has been some recent changes to the Hawaii Vortex Field Guide and I wanted to let you know exactly what changed. First, the cover now reads: Hawaii Vortex Field Guide "Island Vortex Series #1" instead of "A Self-Guided Island Adventure." It was time to emphasize the fact that this book is part of the Island Vortex Series that I am working on. All future book covers will also have this and show their respective number in the series. The Maui Vortex Field Guide is #2 in the series and coming out this Spring. Second, the retail price has been lowered. The price is now $14.95 for the black & white photo edition, and $24.95 for the full color edition (which is only available online here). Third, there is a new coupon in the book to replace the one from Big Island Ghost Tours. Now you'll be able to further enjoy your Hawaiian vortex experience with a free admission to Paleaku Gardens Peace Sanctuary, one of the vortexes featured in the book! Fourth, the Hawaii Vortex Field Guide is now in three bookstores across the Big Island. Kona Stories Book Store (KONA), Basically Books (HILO), Big Island Bookbuyers (HILO) and the Paleaku Gardens Peace Sanctuary (KONA) gift shop all now carry the book. Aloha Fellow Explorers, Happy March 2015! It's truly been a wonderful year so far and I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all my supporters and fans worldwide. I promise you, there will be more talk of pyramids in Hawaii & 'paranormal paradise' in the months to follow. There's a lot going on! In the meantime, here's a new special combo pack I'm offering while supplies last, available only here on ZachRoyer.com, dubbed the "ZachPak." or #ZachPak. The combo pack consists of two new books (Hawaii Vortex Field Guide & Kona Haunted Hele Guidebook), one new CD (Stories and Legends of Old Hawaii), one new card (Artwork by Herb Kane) and one new silver chakra pendant with seven crystals embedded on it (enlarged below). I found the Herb Kane cards, and the CD's in a small mom & pop shop here on the Big Island that's no longer open, and I thought it would be the coolest thing to offer these wonderful pieces of Hawaiiana along with my books as a combo pack. I never thought it would have a catchy name...lol. The cards (I found eight different ones in all) feature a wonderful story about the front artwork on the backside of the card and they each include their own envelope. If you would like to see them all, please email me, otherwise I will include one at random. There were only two Stories and Legends of Old Hawaii CD's so there will only be two of the original ZachPaks available, for now. The next ZachPak, the ZachPak II, will offer an additional book (three total) instead of the CD. One more thing - I thought it would be cool to emphasize that our body's chakras are also energy vortexes, just like the ones I wrote about in the Hawaii Vortex Field Guide, so also included is a unique seven crystal (one for each chakra) pendant ready to put on any necklace. Step 1) Place your fresh/dried herb of choice inside a glass mason jar approximately 3/4 full. (Your herbs will compact once liquid is added so you may be able to add more) Step 2) Add alcohol to jar until almost full. Leave room to be able to shake. (Vodka is ideal for it's nearly odorless and extracts both alcohol and water soluble compounds.) Seal the jar with lid and store in a cool place. Step 3) Shake your jar(s) daily anywhere from two weeks to 6 months. Longer=Stronger. Step 4) After at least two weeks, you can bottle your extract and start using it. Using any kitchen strainer or new nylon stocking you can separate alcohol from herb at which point you are ready to bottle it. Bottles: I found the local co-op (Island Naturals on Hawaii Island) to have perfect 2oz. & 4oz. dropper bottles which you can see in the video.
