Aloha! My new book, the Hawaii Vortex Field Guide is now available as a digital download for Kindle, Computer, iDevices, Android, and any other e-reader! It's my first self-published book, and it's just $4.99 on Amazon.com. As you visit the vortex destinations detailed in this field guide, allow yourself a chance to absorb the energies and enjoy the visual spectacles that you find there and along the way. Remember, it’s about the journey just as much as it’s about the destination. Get plenty of rest the night before you set out, drink plenty of water, and take plenty of time. It may take two days or more for you to fully assimilate the new experiences that lie ahead…they call it the Big Island for a reason! In between your adventuring, the local farmers markets in Kona or Hilo offers unique fruits & treasures that show signs of a culture steeped in mystery and lore. Each of these places offers exclusive nourishment for your body and soul. Eating the local foods is an excellent way to connect with the energies of the land (aina). Always keep in mind that Hawai’i has very rough waters on occasion, as well as steep hiking trails and sharp rocks so always be extra careful. Hundreds of visitors are rescued each year while hiking and swimming, while dozens more are less fortunate. Some areas are extremely remote and take hours to access. It is our hope that if you do set out to explore some of the sites around the island or mentioned in this book, you keep to the marked trails, always practice safety when swimming, and please don’t disturb any of the historical structures you may come across. It’s also suggested that you don’t take any lava rocks off the island as Hawaiians consider them sacred as well. So grab your hat and put on some sunscreen, it’s time to begin our tropical vortex adventure!
